Castlerea Prison
Castlerea Prison opened its doors as a penal establishment on 23rd December 1996 and has an operational capacity of 228 inmates. Glenbeigh were appointed as a Design & Built contractor with the task of upgrading the complete Castlerea Prison Complex, including the new build of a 64 bed Remand Building a Recreational Wing for inmates of the entire Prison, 2 Grove Houses, upgrading of all the services networks, completing the works with a new entrance gateblock cell and Control Room.
Logistically this was a massive undertaking by Glenbeigh, co-ordinating all of the above works within a highly secure and restrictive environment and completing all works within 3 years.
