The project consisted of enabling works on site followed by the construction of an infant, single and double bedroom facility for the palliative care of terminally ill children.

The project involved of the construction of an infant, single and double bedroom facility for the palliative care of terminally ill Children. The Unit was constructed using a Glenbeigh Off Site (GOS) system comprising panelised hot and cold rolled steel with a highly effective insulated panel and cement particle board finish.

A high level of sensitive building services were required including oxygen, vacuum supply and storage, Nurse call systems, overhead hoist facilities overall access control, CCTV and a very demanding requirement for disabled access, egress and utilisation of sanitary and Hydro-bath facilities.

The existing care facility remained in use during the construction works. Glenbeigh had to ensure that there was minimal disruption to the palliative care area and its patients. Through careful planning and the fostering of a strong working relationship with the local management Glenbeigh was able to ensure that the work carried out on the project had a minimal impact on the palliative care of the children.
